Dr. Sonali Garg has recently joined New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM) as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics. She holds a Ph.D. and an MA in Economics from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA. Additionally, she holds an MA in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a BA in Economics (H.) from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.
Dr. Garg has extensive teaching experience, having taught economics to students both in India and the US. Her professional journey includes working as an analyst with various entities in the US and India, and serving as a regulator with the Competition Commission of India.
In February 2024, Dr. Garg published a book titled ‘The Telegraph and Stock Exchanges: How Innovations in Communications Technology Influenced Regional Exchanges in the United States, 1830-1860’, part of the Palgrave Studies in Economic History series. This work explores the impact of communications technology on the rise of the New York Stock Exchange. Additionally, Dr. Garg has authored two mystery books that creatively blend her love for detective stories with her passion for economics.
