Research activities occupy an important place at NDIM because of the institutional emphasis on a strong relationship between research and training. The last decade or so has seen an immense growth in the amount of research carried out in a wide range of management aspects. NDIM believes that the current problems in management involve interaction amongst several decision parameters. It therefore has laid a strong emphasis on understanding the linkages between class room learning, its application in real situations and the research methods used to aid effective decision making. The various methods of research are suitably integrated in the course curriculum to make our students competent to use them. Recognizing the need for dissemination of knowledge and new developments in diverse areas of Management Sciences, the institute has embarked upon the publication of a Research Journal with the title "Review of Professional Management". The journal provides a forum for researchers, practitioners and management professionals serving in Government, Industry and Academia to share their experiences and findings in the interdisciplinary areas of management. The Journal has attained the reputation of being one of the most recognized referred journals and has also received international recognition by way of publishing research papers from authors from abroad.

Our faculty is encouraged to engage themselves in the Research activities of the institute by way of publishing their research papers in journals of repute as well as to actively participate in research seminars and symposia.

The Publication Division also assists a team of students in the publishing of a student's magazine "AATMA TRISHA – Thirst for Knowledge". This magazine provides students with an opportunity to express and share their views, knowledge & learning with other students. The magazine also receives a wide appreciation both from Industrialists and Academicians.
