In order to promote and nurture talent, NDIM has instituted merit scholarships to reward meritorious students for their outstanding academic performance in the various semester examinations. The institution of these scholarships has contributed to a competitive environment amongst the top students of the institute as well as in recognition of a culture of academic excellence amongst the students. Top 15 students are selected in every semester based on their academic performance for the award of merit scholarships tenable for the entire semester.

In recognition of their scholarly interests and academic performance, the institute also encourages some senior students to act as mentors and take tutorials for the junior students. This practice has led to an environment where junior students work very closely with the senior students in resolving their difficulties in a frank and friendly atmosphere. The senior students who are identified for such tasks are offered suitable honorarium / stipend offering them an opportunity of Earning While Learning (EWL), a unique practice followed in NDIM.

NDIM is also listed as an approved institution at several nationalized banks and has an excellent reputation amongst some of the private banks and financial institutions for the purpose of education loans facilitating the students to reduce the burden of one time payments.
